The Felix Chronicles Five Days in January Volume 2 RT Lowe 9781533303349 Books
I have read the first two in the series. This book is the second and I am about to begin the third. I understand a fourth is in the works. The book has an eerie connection with current trends in both national and international politics and social movements. I am not inclined to read to much into it, but it does provide an interesting context in which to appreciate the plot ... such as it is. I admit to being interested in the characters and the author provides some good and unexpected twists. However, the main character is portrayed as conflicted and ambivalent as he is powerful. This is an interesting premise but the plot feels like it is stronger on the periphery than at the core where a compelling hero/heroine ... or anti-hero/heroine ...would be found. I continue reading, perhaps for the very reason the author intends ... to find out if the hero ever gets his act together, learns to determine who is manipulating him rather than supporting him, and finally develops a moral core and convictions that drive meaningful and purposeful action. It looks like I read this volume ... and will read the next ... to see what happens. So, I guess I am hooked.Product details

The Felix Chronicles Five Days in January Volume 2 RT Lowe 9781533303349 Books Reviews
very nice world building a little too much on the headgames but a cool world with a differnt take on magic. nice job!
The Felix Chronicles is shaping up to be an awesome series, action and suspense galore. Can't wait for the third installment
This is a fantastically written new genre of magic and fantasy.. not childish like most of the teen books out there. The realism in this book gives this series a new edge I really appreciate. Anyway I can't wait to hear what happens in the third book!!!
I really liked the first book of the series. This one was a nice continuation, however, it lacked the substance of the first book. The plot was unfinished in that it didn't really have its own plot and didn't have its own ending. I will probably read the next book because the characters are well-developed and the story has promise.
A great book to read. It wasn't predictable, it was fast paced and over too quickly. I just hope he writes faster than R.R. Martin. lol
Why is this not a bestseller yet?
I enjoyed reading every single word and can't wait for the next book! Five Days in January is shorter than the first part and everything happens in only 5 days. However, the author has managed to pack so much action into those few days that it feels like a lifetime. His style doesn't let you put the book down and I wouldn't say that if it weren't completely true, since I am quite picky about books. I would recommend it to anyone, I am positive the book won't disappoint. The only thing that bothers me is waiting for the next part, but I'm sure it's going to be worth it.
I was pleasantly surprised at liking this series. I'm not a real fantasy buff, but the plot kept dragging me in. The subject matter involves college age kids - since those days are well behind me, I wasn't sure that I would get into the story. But as I said, it kept dragging me in. Part of that is the basic story, and another part is the craft of the author. Mr Lowe has definitely learned the art of storytelling. I'm really glad I heeded the suggestions of the other reviewers to give this series a read. My only question - when is the next installment coming?
